It is in our recent memory that high schools in Tigray were very few in number. They were limited to only one high school per Awraja. In fact, there were some Awraja’s such as Kilte Awlaelo that even never had one until 1969 E.C.
This year Awlaelo Shools Alumni Association has launched a new program called Sponsor a student. The sponsorship is to help needy students with school supplies such as note books, Pen/pencils, school registration fees, and similar other expenses that are important for the students academics.
In the effort to excel in education and knowledge, Awlaelo Schools Alumni Association has taken a project of building a state of the art library in Wuqro Secondary school. Awlaelo Schools Alumni Association celebrated its 4th anniversary on July 18, 2007 in Las Vegas. As always, the event was divided into two parts. One, members meeting during the day time and second was fund-raising during the night time.
